What is the difference between Xbox Live Silver and Xbox Live Gold?

I saw them both in a package from Walmart, but it saids Xbox Live Gold is a 30-day trial, so when you’re paying for Xbox Live what are you payin for? Xbox Live Silver or Gold? Also should i buy and Xbox 360 arcade and then buy the 60 gb hard drive package, or just buy the Xbox 360 Pro Bundle, both at Walmart.

Gold lets you play Online for multiplayer, silver doesn’t so in my opinion silver is useless. If you are a hardcore gamer that gets all the Shooting games and money isn’t the subject then I would get the Xbox360 Elite, but if there is a money issue I would go with the Pro, because it cheaper then buying the Arcade then getting the Hard-Drive.
You pay for gold and you should just buy the xbox 360 pro bundle since it would be cheaper then buying an xbox arcade and then a 60 gb hard drive.
Gold = Able to play games online.
Silver = Not able to play games online.
THE DIFFERENCE IS HOW MUCH GB IT HAS. THE DIFFERNCE IS HOW MUCH GB THE HD HAS .
WHEN YOU PAY FOR XBOX LIVE UR PAYING TO BE ABLE TO PLAY ONLINE WITH OTHER PLAYERS.

live gold let’s u play games online and join parties with other ppl. while silver just let’s u talk/im other ppl, u can’t play online with them. u don’t have to pay for silver. but gold u do depending on how long it is for. I have the pro bundle, i would get it unless there is a major price difference. hope that helped
Xbox Silver is free. Everyone starts out with that. Its useless. XBOX GOLD lets you play video games online. Multiplayer games for the most part. Get whichever package gives you the 30 day free trial. A year subscription to XBOX Gold costs about 50 dollars. If both packages offer it, you might be better off taking the 60 gb hard drive package just because of the space. Though i’m sure the pro bundle is WAAAYYYY cheaper
if your a gold member you can play online an if your silver you cant play online. but you can still download game and other but you mit need the gold or the redeem code.
Xbox Live Gold allows you to join XBL Parties, Play Online with other people and gives you discounts to SOME marketplace items
Xbox live Silver lets you go into chats only with friends, purchase content from the marketplace and send messages
